Cas Holman developed her imaginative approach to design while growing up in the foothills of the Sierras, where plentiful sticks and mud made for endless possibilities. She stayed in Northern California to earn a BFA in Feminist Theory and Fine Art from the University of California at Santa Cruz. Later, she travelled east to pursue an MFA in 3D Design from Cranbrook Art Academy. Holman is currently a Professor of Industrial Design at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her designs explore the intersection of play, learning and creativity and are used in K-12 classrooms, playgrounds and public parks around the world. Most recently, she was commissioned to develop a pop-up playground for the High Line Park in New York City.
